FAQs
1) I know nothing about a forklift, except that I need one! Where do I start?
The first points of consideration are:
-
What do you want the forklift to do?
-
What is the heaviest weight you will be lifting?
-
How high do you want to lift?
-
Where will the forklift be used? (What type of surface will it run on?)
-
How much will you use it every day?
-
What type of fuel do you want? (gas, L.P. gas, diesel, or electric battery powered.)
-
What is your budget and how much do you want to spend?
-
These are the questions that need to be answered when you are considering buying a forklift.

11) I need to purchase tires but I don't have the tire sizes?
You could provide us with the model and serial number of the forklifts!
12) How often does my forklift needs new tires?
Some of the common replies to this question are:
- When the tire is worn into the sidewall lettering.
- When the tire is worn to the sidewall center bar.
- When I can see sparks from the base band.
The truth is there is no clear-cut answer to this question. When replacing a tire you need to consider the ramifications of waiting too long to replace a tire.
13) Can you put pneumatic tires on a solid tire forklift?
No, this is physically impossible due to the frame differences between a solid tire forklift and a forklift with pneumatic tires.
14) What type of engine is the best- internal combustion(lpg, diesel) or electric?
It depends on your application. Each power source has its advantages and disadvantages.
Internal combustion engines have more variable power, generate more torque, and are much more mobile in that refueling can be done anywhere. They do, however, require more maintenance and emit noticeable emissions.
Electric forklifts are fume free, have less moving parts, which means less overall maintenance, quiet and clean, and easy to use. Their drawback is an eight hour recharge time when it runs out of power and the forklift needs to be returned to a charger every time.
How and where you use a forklift will be a big difference in what will be best for you. We can provide the solution if you ask us!
15) Why should I purchase an electric forklift versus a LPG (liquid propane gas) forklift?
If your business is involved in working in cold (cold storage or freezers, for example), you must use an electric forklift. An LPG forklift emits gas fumes and heat that will actually raise the level of the temperature in the area in which it is being operated.
If, however, you are using your forklift outside where it could possibly rain or snow, LPG is strongly recommended as an electric forklift can short out if it gets wet.
In general, an electric forklift is quieter and does not emit fumes, but requires recharging time (which could be substantial, depending on how much it has been used and the voltage of electricity available), while an LPG requires that you get the tank refilled (we recommend that you always have a full spare tank on the premises).

16) How do propane emissions compare with other fuel emissions?
Research studies have proven that properly maintained propane engines produce significantly fewer carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon, particulate matter and nitrogen oxide emissions than gasoline- or diesel-fueled forklifts.
17) How does propane forklift performance compare with electricity-powered forklifts?
Propane-powered forklifts outperform electric forklifts in both indoor and outdoor applications. They have demonstrated the ability to lift, push and pull heavy loads at full capacity, up and down inclines, for longer periods and with improved ground speed when compared with electric forklifts.
18) Is propane more expensive than other alternative fuels?
No. Propane-powered forklifts actually have a cost advantage over electricity-, diesel- and gasoline-powered forklifts. In addition to propane-powered lifts' lower purchase price, studies have shown that propane engines last longer than other engines and require less maintenance over time, resulting in even greater savings.
